Pure Copper Ingots Batch Production

Manufacturing Process

Four controlled steps to a clean copper ingot.

Step 1

Cathode and Scrap Sorting

LME Grade A copper cathodes and clean copper wire scrap are sorted to remove iron, lead and tin.

Step 2

Induction Furnace Refining

Melted under a protective cover in medium-frequency furnaces to limit oxygen pick-up.

Step 3

Deoxidation and Spectro Test

DHP grade is deoxidised with phosphorus. Purity is checked on a spectrometer.

Step 4

Continuous Mould Casting

Filtered copper is cast in water-cooled moulds into smooth ingots with identification stamps.

Where it is used

Key downstream manufacturing sectors reliant on pure copper ingots.

Electrical and power distribution

Remelted and cast into busbars, transformer parts and switchgear parts, and drawn into wire rod.

Alloy foundries

Raw material for brass, phosphor bronze, aluminium bronze and gunmetal.

HVAC and heat exchangers

DHP copper is used for refrigeration tubing, cooling plates and heat exchanger pipes.

Plumbing and valve fittings

Raw material for water valves, sanitary hardware and pipe fittings.

Automotive and electrical

Motor parts, battery connectors and radiator cores.

Chemical and process equipment

Reaction vessels, kettles and electrodes, where heat transfer and corrosion resistance matter.
