Phosphor (tin) bronze, aluminium bronze, leaded bronze and manganese bronze ingots, made to a controlled composition for heavy wear, corrosion and marine use.
Four controlled steps from raw material to ingot.
Copper cathodes, tin, aluminium, nickel and sorted bronze scrap are checked against the grade.
Melted under flux cover in electric induction furnaces so copper, tin, aluminium and iron blend evenly.
Phosphor-copper is added to remove oxides. Composition is checked on an OES spectrometer.
Degassed metal is poured into water-cooled iron or steel moulds for a fine grain and low porosity.
Comprehensive chemical composition limits, physical constants, and mechanical properties of major Bronze Ingot grades.

Key downstream manufacturing sectors reliant on high-grade bronze ingots.
Leaded and phosphor bronze for sleeve bearings, thrust washers and high-load bushings.
Aluminium and manganese bronze resist seawater. Used for propellers, rudders and underwater shafts.
Phosphor bronze for high-torque gear wheels and worm gears.
Resist cavitation and erosion in pumps, boiler mountings and marine valves.
Cylinder glands, wear plates and bearings for mining and crushing equipment.
Aluminium bronze is used for non-sparking safety tools and chemical process fittings.
